Set in the ground floor of a former cotton mill, Russell Dean is situated in the town of Mytholmroyd, just over a mile away from the historic town of Hebden Bridge in the Yorkshire Dales.
In these superb countryside surroundings Russell Dean, which was established in 1960, has built a reputation renowned for providing furniture of the highest quality and housing many of the leading brands. Developing into the best quality furniture store in the area, Russell Dean continues selling furniture at great prices to customers in Mytholmroyd and beyond.
The region is recognised for its joinery and textile skills and has a rich heritage of fine furniture making. The area is home to distinguished British upholstery makers Vale-Bridgecraft and also nearby, at Frostholme Mill, are the long established furniture manufacturers Nathan and their sister company Sutcliffe.
Re-building and moving on
Like many other businesses in the community, the Russell Dean store suffered water damage when the river Calder burst its banks during the floods of 2012. The business saw this as an opportunity to refurbish the store and after two months of hard work the showrooms were transformed.
Unfortunately the store was flooded again on Boxing Day 2015, this time the water was even deeper inside the store with the shop floor badly affected. The decision was made to demolish the existing building and completely rebuild a bigger and better store. Building works are going well and we look forward to opening your new Russell Dean store in spring this year.
